SINCLAIR is excited to announce our summer exhibition Don’t Sell Grandma’s House, an immersive installation presented by W.A.S.+, on view from August 16 - September 6, 2026.

W.A.S. (Tashawn “Whaffle” Davis, Andre “Uncut” Gray, and Sola Olosunde) is a collective dedicated to preserving Black history and culture through art, photography, design, installation, and archival practice. W.A.S.+ expands that mission through collaborations with artists, collectors, and cultural partners.

Don’t Sell Grandma’s House explores Black interior design, media, culture, and memory through the recreation of a fully immersive 1960s–1970s basement. More than a nostalgic recreation, the installation examines how Black homes became spaces of identity, creativity, connection, and community. It also reflects on the importance of preserving these environments, along with the stories, objects, and memories they hold. The exhibition features a selection of archival objects from the collection of StorageBased, the archival practice of Denzel Simmons, further deepening the historical narratives that underpin the exhibition.
